Stride Treglown Heads Down Under For Higher Education Scheme In Sydney

Stride Treglown has continued its international growth with news of involvement in a large higher education project in Sydney, Australia.

The architects have been appointed to contribute towards the review and update of the masterplan for Macquarie University campus in the northern suburbs of Sydney.

Working with Australia’s largest architectural and masterplanning practice Cox Richardson, Stride Treglown will be participating in a series of workshops - the first of which is to be held in Sydney in late May - that look at the rapidly evolving context for this popular, successful and expanding University.

With a wealth of masterplanning experience gained at a number of UK universities and colleges, Stride Treglown will bring a different perspective to the development team, helping to define and identify the value of existing buildings and spaces on campus, advising on developments in teaching and learning in higher education and to challenge ideas.

David Hunter, Director of Education at Stride Treglown, said;

"We understand that the University is keen to find ways of intensifying development whilst retaining the high quality natural environment and sensitive ecology of the campus. The team recognised that the work we have recently completed at the University of Reading’s Whiteknights Campus was a similar exercise and could be of particular relevance. It will be interesting to see what influence a northern hemisphere take will have on the process over the next few months."
