Stride Treglown is hosting a 'Sustainable Strides Week' to coincide with Bristol's Good Living Week, from 10 - 19 June.
The architects, industry-recognised for its commitment to sustainable design, will be doing their bit to raise the profile of 'green' with a number of activities across the working week.
Kicking off on 13 June, the week will feature themed days including 'Low Carbon Monday', 'Water and Waste Tuesday', 'Land Use and Ecology Wednesday', 'Travel Light Thursday' and 'Feel Good Friday', rounded off by a rounders match and staff party, where food and drink will be sourced from local suppliers.
The practice hopes to not only raise the profile of sustainability issues, showcase creative talent and innovative thinking, and highlight good practice internally, but also to inspire and motivate people locally and nationally.
Highlights include a 'Design a bird box' competition, a sustainable landscape design presentation and a Walkers and Cyclists' breakfast. The 'PARK'ing space stunt – where the company Chairman, Bob Whittington's parking bay will be adopted by a slice of meadow for two days – is also being used to demonstrate the importance of effective Land use and Ecology.
Rob Delius, head of Sustainable Design, said;
"The aim of this programme is to raise the profile of sustainability throughout Stride Treglown and externally, to local business communities and our clients. It also aims to encourage other businesses to engage their staff in a similar way so companies and individuals gain a better understanding of sustainable issues, the part they can play in developing this further and the benefit to themselves and their community.
We hope our Sustainable Week will become an annual fixture, building upon this year's activities in the future so that staff and clients can work together to provide a programme of sustainable events in Bristol and beyond."
