The current version of BREEAM for new-build projects is due to change to ‘BREEAM 2011’ on 1st July 2011. This means that the last opportunity to register an assessment under BREEAM 2008 is 11:59pm on 30th June 2011.
For many credits, BREEAM 2011 criteria are more onerous than BREEAM 2008 criteria, so registering a project against the older criteria may prove advantageous.
Projects registered by 30th June 2011 do not need to be assessed immediately and can be certified at any point until 30th June 2016. There are no fees associated with registering a development under BREEAM 2008 and it only requires minimal information.
Stride Treglown Management has a dedicated team of BREEAM assessors qualified to assess developments in all sectors, with experience providing high quality advice and guidance to both public and private sector clients. Additionally, we can provide a BREEAM AP service to gain up to an additional 2 credits and provide added value to a project where involvement starts from RIBA Stage A or B.
If you are involved in any new development that may require a BREEAM Assessment in the near future our just want to know more about the changes please contact our Head of Team Anna Da Col on:
