Changes in Stride Treglown Abu Dhabi

Stride Treglown is delighted to announce that Nigel Craddock has rejoined the business after a break of almost five years. He returns as Design Manager and brings with him a wealth of middle eastern experience and design talent.

Recently out of Tripoli, Nigel was working on the largest hospitality project in Libya and has a good deal of insight into building projects in this part of the world. As Design Manager, Nigel has day to day responsibility for the design and delivery of architecture projects in the office.  He manages the design process from inception through concept and schematic design to construction documentation and ensures that information is delivered to the right quality and in a timely manner. Nigel is responsible for the coordination of project teams and will act as the main point of contact for project delivery with the client.  He also has responsibility to ensure the quality of information reflects the requirements of Stride Treglown’s IMS policy and procedures.

His return to the office strengthens Stride Treglown’s team as the company moves increasingly into project design and delivery in Abu Dhabi.

With two years of hard work raising Strides’ profile in the United Arab Emirates and getting our business up and running, General Manager Nathan Hones has had to make the difficult decision to return to Australia to be with family. He leaves a business that is making its mark in the region for innovative school design and imminent unveiling of proposals for a low cost model school and a reputation for higher education that is amongst the best in the world. Nathan will be missed in the office and in town.

During challenging times for everyone in the construction industry Stride Treglown’s move to establish its first international office in Abu Dhabi in 2009 has been seen as either extremely canny or foolhardy. That we are still here, have a growing reputation and are winning work, reflects the solid foundation the business has back in the United Kingdom for good award winning sustainable design that delivers the most for our clients. By holding their nerve and with singular resolve, Stride Treglown has a positive future in the region that will bring not only challenges but also rewards to the business as it moves from being a successful national practice in the UK to an international practice with an established reputation for good honest architecture.

Director Richard Philipson explains that ‘Stride Treglown’s continued commitment to the region reflects the company’s long term strategic plan to expand into the global market and offer good design and carefully considered solutions from its team of talented and experienced professionals’.
