Stride Treglown’s New £35m Arts Building At University Of Salford Gets Planning Approval

The University of Salford has been granted permission to construct a major new faculty building at its Peel campus.

The Arts Building, designed by Manchester architects Stride Treglown, forms the first phase of the University's Campus Redevelopment Masterplan.

The development will provide a new home for the departments of Music, Performing Arts, and Art & Design which are currently spread across several sites. The building facilitates creative cross-disciplinary working which will enable the university to offer unique educational opportunities to students.

Gordon Tero, Director of Stride Treglown's Manchester office, commented, "We are very excited to be involved with this fantastic project. We've worked very closely with the client body, particularly the end users, to ensure the new facility provides them with the state of the art accommodation that they need to build on their considerable academic success."

Construction is due to start early next year for delivery in April 2014.
