Award Winning Architectural Practice Stride Treglown Ends Year On High

Leading architectural practice, Stride Treglown is ending the year on a high after being presented with three prestigious awards. The practice is delighted that its quality of design work has been recognised around the UK and by its industry peers.

The first accolade was for best sustainable development given by The Daily Telegraphs What House Awards 2006. The Gold Award was presented to Great Bow Yard in Langport, Somerset, an eco-friendly development designed by Stride Treglown for South West Eco Homes Ltd.

Great Bow Yard is a waterside development of 12 low energy homes which has achieved an Ecohomes 'Excellent' rating and includes a range of green features.

Great Bow YardWelsh Housing Award for 2006

The second achievement was the Welsh Housing Award for 2006 given by the Royal Society of Architecture in Wales (RSAW). The honour was for Esplanade House, Porthcawl undertaken on behalf of Redrow Homes South Wales.

Esplanade House won the category 2 Housing Design Award for a bold scheme of 42 apartments above ground floor retail units that compliment the seaside setting of Porthcawl.

SWPCA AwardsSouth West Commercial Property Awards

The third accreditation was for the South West Commercial Property Awards (SWCPA). The awards have been founded by the Western Daily Press, Bristol Evening Post and RICS to highlight the strength of the commercial property market in the South West. Nominated by industry peers, Stride Treglown's commercial divisional directors Andy Crabb and John Wright accepted the trophy on behalf of the company at the glittering award ceremony last week in Bristol.

"This year has definitely been one of our most successful years ever. So it's fantastic that the team's hard work is being recognised with these esteemed awards. It is certainly part of our work ethic to ensure that we are contributing towards regeneration projects in the South West and also the local economy.
