Visitors to Stride Treglown's new Bath premises might be forgiven for thinking that pigs can fly, as a new silver chrome pig has taken pride of place on a high plinth outside the offices at 25 Queens Square.
It's all because of a public art event to celebrate Bath, its origins and its artists and provide residents and visitors with some artistic enjoyment. One hundred life-size pig sculptures turned into works of art will be on display throughout the summer all around Bath and beyond - to be auctioned off in October for the benefit of a local campaign.
All companies taking part sponsored an original pig sculpture through King Bladud Pigs of Bath, and then worked with a local artist to provide the artwork. Stride Treglown director Dominic Eaton worked with artist Sole Nasi and a specialist car spray company in Essex to produce the silver Disco Pig.
Dominic Eaton commented, "It's not just a load of hogwash, Disco Pig has been a valuable addition to our team at Bath. He's very regal and overlooks all visitors as they enter the offices. We don't want him to leave our team and so will fight for him in October at the auction and will hopefully bring home the bacon."
