Stride Treglown teams up with Old Bristolians Rugby Club To Tackle Dubai Championship

Stride Treglown recently sponsored the Old Bristolians Rugby Club in its bid for a championship place in the International 7s.

The team flew to Dubai in November to take part in the annual competition. The event is part of the International Rugby 7s calendar, but Dubai is the only one which has a wider competition open to amateur clubs.

Stride Treglown sponsored the shirts for the event, and also worked closely with the team on all marketing opportunities. Stride Treglown is particularly keen in establishing business links in Dubai as the company is constantly looking for new opportunities as it grows its network of offices.

Commenting on the sponsorship Kevin Steer, chairman of Stride Treglown, "As a business we support the local community wherever possible, and this partnership with the Old Bristolians seemed an ideal opportunity to support a local organisation that is also involved with a prestigious event in an area we would like to reach."

Old Bristolians consists of a team ranging from 20-45 years old that work across a number of professions from barristers, doctors, corporate bankers and white collar workers. They train twice a week at the Memorial Playing Field, Longwood Lane, Failand. The club supports CLIC Sargent, the charity that supports young people with cancer, after a very active team member was diagnosed with leukaemia last year.  Robbie Stuart, 28, who captained the second team and had also been Bristol RFC mascot at the Memorial Stadium, passed away recently.
