We celebrate 30 years in Plymouth

On Thursday 22nd October we celebrated the 30th anniversary of our Plymouth office with a party at the Royal Western Yacht Club for over 70 guests.

We opened the first Plymouth office in North Hill with a team of 6, which later moved to The Crescent and the team grew to 10.  Our current office, based at The Millfields, has over 20 staff.

Each year we have risen up the national league table of architectural practices compiled by Architect's Journal; this year we reached number 18 in the chart. We have also retained our position as the largest architectural practice in the South West.

Kevin McDonald, who has run the Plymouth office for over 13 years and did all his training at Plymouth University, is Managing Director for the whole practice which employs over 280 staff and includes offices in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Reading, Truro, and Abu Dhabi.

The practice has an excellent reputation in Residential, Commercial, Health and Educational projects, as well as highly skilled, specialist departments providing graphic design, BREEAM Assessors, CDM Co-ordinators, Town Planning, and Landscape Architecture.

Alastair Wilson, regional director of the Truro and Plymouth offices, said "It's always important to take some time to stop and look back at what you have achieved as a practice.  Stride Treglown has worked on some great local projects over the last 30 years, including designing Bodmin Police Station, The Watermark at Ivybridge, Sainsbury's landmark eco store in Dartmouth, a‚ £20 million Maternity Unit at Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, Wonford and the award winning regeneration scheme for Harvey's Foundry.  We're looking forward to working closely with our clients on the next 30 years of projects."
