Happy New Year from all at Stride Treglown

Despite the market commentators promising a 'difficult time' in 2012 we find ourselves looking forward to the new year with optimism and a healthy order book for 2012.

At the end of 2011 we secured a number of new commissions across the UK and in Abu Dhabi in many sectors, including student accommodation, hotels, universities, master planning, food retail, defence, healthcare, education, industrial and even offices, and with a number of high profile projects due to start on site soon, including the £35m Arts Building for the University of Salford and phase 1 of the £26m 5* Buxton Crescent, the new year has started with a flurry of activity.

Emphasis has definitely shifted towards delivering creative solutions that offer value to our clients, yet still include high quality design as standard.

In spite of tight margins, we continue to invest in the latest software with the new version of Revit, our preferred BIM software, now rolled out. We've been working up our BIM offer for about 10 years and it's really exciting that everyone has suddenly woken up to what it can do, enabling us to work more collaboratively with the whole construction team. To help spread the word, we are running a series of presentations on how we see BIM working for the industry, helping us deliver better co-ordinated designs in a more efficient way.

We hope our optimism is borne out, and that you, we and the property sector in general have a better than anticipated 2012.
