This £2m cancer care unit for the Teenage Cancer Trust is located in a difficult infill site at the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff. It is raised up on stilts so that it can fit over several existing building. The scheme is a very modern insertion against the old hospital buildings. Internally, great care has been taken to create an atmosphere that is unlike a  hospital, keeping the design modern, funky and colourful with individual patient entertainment systems, screen printed walls, private ‘snug’ retreats and a private balcony space.

Stride Treglown was engaged by the contractor on this D&B scheme for the detail design and construction phase.
