This new state of the art Primary Care Resource Centre will house Harbourside Family Practice GPs and community health services provided by NHS North Somerset PCT.

The three-storey building includes 19 consulting and examination rooms, two treatment rooms, a physiotherapy suite and a gym and has been designed to achieve a NEAT (NHS Environmental Assessment Tool) 'excellent' rating.

A key design factor was the integration of the two main stakeholders: a central reception and shared waiting area is provided; a Minor Surgery Suite is to be shared between the GPs and the PCT; and all staff and meeting/training and library accommodation has been situated to facilitate use by both organisations.

The full height reception and waiting area incorporates a beautiful and unusual glass sculpture to bring a calming and healing atmosphere to the space. The spectacular blue glass installation, designed Opus Glass Design, was inspired by the reflections of the water in the nearby Portishead Marina.
