Stride Treglown has designed a range of industrial space throughout the UK including this new development for Bristol International Airport.
The scheme consists of pilot, spotter and engineers' offices, a helicopter maintenance workshop and a helicopter hangar all of which meets the operational and administrative requirements for power line maintenance and management.
Raking fins have been added to a traditional functional shape, extending the gable walls to create a more dynamic form without compromising the client's requirements. Extending the roof to connect with the raking fins has the additional advantage of providing solar shading to the offices on the south elevation and protecting the hangar doors from inclement weather on the north.
