Stride Treglown has designed a purpose built independent National Composites Centre for the University of Bristol.
The building accommodates research and manufacturing processes for the design and production of Carbon Composite components and will be an international hub to provide the very latest in design and a high-tech manufacturing facility. 200 leading industry researchers and academic experts will be based at the centre, working together to produce new technologies through the design and laboratory phases and into production.
The buildings will contain approximate 5000m² of workshop type space incorporating manufacturing process plant, clean rooms, high level cranes and research areas, the remaining 2000m² consists of open plan office space and meeting facilities.
The project was completed in June 2011 achieving its targeted BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
