This eight-class primary school is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park and the design reflects its location, both in terms of scale and carefully a selected palette of materials, all presented in a contemporary manner.
By turning its back on the noisy main road and facing towards the adjacent fields and wooded areas, the building creates a safe quiet play area for the children to explore and learn.
The building also has community facilities that will ensure it is at the heart of community activity.
The design incorporates numerous environmental features including rainwater harvesting, solar water heaters and a wood pellet boiler and the school is intended to be a flagship scheme for the Council who have targeted a 'Very Good' BREEAM rating.
