There are six courts and ancillary accommodation which cover 38,000 sqft within the walls of Rougement Castle, which is an Ancient Monument.
The court building has evolved over several centuries and incorporates a variety of architectural styles and materials.
Stride Treglown was commissioned by the Lord Chancellor's Department to assess the condition of Exeter Combined Court's Grade II listed buildings through quinquennial inspections and surveys. We were also contracted to manage planned maintenance programmes and implement all repair and maintenance work to all elevations, the many different roofs, and the ancient castle walls.
Throughout the project, we ensured that traditional materials were used wherever possible is in accordance with accepted conservation principles.
