Stride Treglown were appointed to record the condition of nine of the UK Helicopter Search and Rescue bases spread around the coast of the United Kingdom. The requirement was to accurately record the condition, by traditional narrative means supplemented by sufficient photographs to give an instant reflection of the condition of the buildings.
The buildings vary in age and construction from the 1940's through to recently completed new buildings. All have the common helicopter hangar and workshop necessary in order to maintain the helicopters ready for service, without fail, at a moment's notice. They also each have an operations suite, crew quarters and workshops in which to maintain all the supplementary but necessary life saving equipment.
