The Swansea and Gorseinon Colleges originally occupied 4 campii with two separate and isolated 'satellite' buildings. The portfolio of some 30 buildings ranges in architecture from the listed Victorian Sketty Hall to some recent 21st century construction on the Gorseinon campus where, whilst the majority of buildings are of the 1970's period, there is also some temporary portakabin accommodation. The Llyn Y Bryn Campus is largely Victorian with some later additions and the main Ty Coch site is largely 1960's/70's again with some late 20th century additions.
Stride Treglown were appointed in 2010 to survey all the properties of the Swansea and Gorseinon Colleges prior to their amalgamation into Gower College. The brief was to report regarding condition, using the standard RICS/ DFES condition codes, advise re statutory compliance, and to provide a costed forward maintenance plan for the following ten-year period. This commission was required at very short notice and was completed to a very tight timescale.
