27/28 Richmond Terrace is a prominant grade II listed 6 storey Victorian terrace building located in Clifton, Bristol.
The building had been subject to water ingress at various high level locations for an extended period of time, Stride Treglown was commissioned by Solon Housing Association to identify the cause of the problem(s) and to specify remedial measures.
As an external refurbishment scheme was already in progress, we were required to attend site at very short notice. We were able to gain very good access to inspect pertinent areas and it soon became apparent that the roof drainage was undersized and generally in poor overall condition. The above ground drainage pipework was unable to cope with the required demand and alterations were therefore designed and implemented into the refurbishment scheme with no significant impact on the project programme.
The listed status of the building meant that all work had to be agreed with the conservation officer to ensure there was no detrimental impact on the architectural merit of the building.
