Stride Treglown were initially appointed by Stute Foods to provide advice following their receipt of a 'Party Structure Notice' being served upon them in respect of the proposed development of the adjacent Seeleys Hotel site. Due to concerns regarding the possible adverse effect of the proposed development we were subsequently appointed as 'Party Wall Surveyor' for Stute (the 'Adjoining Owner'). Our commission was subsequently extended to act as 'Party Wall Surveyor' for all the other 'Adjoining Owners'.

Stute Food's building is a brick built 1920's-30's industrial building with pitched roof and the subsequent addition of clerestory lighting. Other adjoining owner's buildings included a Victorian house and the Washington Hotel, which is 4- storey Victorian terraced building.

During this commission we looked after the interests of our appointing owners to ensure no damage was caused to their properties during the development work on the adjacent site. We reviewed the proposals and ensured the necessary precautions, including the preparation of schedules of condition, were incorporated into the Party Wall Awards, which were agreed before the work commenced.
