20-22 The Mall, a Victorian Gentleman's Club, includes not only the formal classical frontage to The Mall but also much double depth and varied Victorian property, including residential accommodation. The variety of property is particularly evident at roof level where over 15 varying roof forms are apparent.
The Stride Treglown Building Surveying team started the project by providing a detailed condition survey of the historic fabric which was followed by careful repairs to the stone faced elevations and various roofs to this grade II listed building. The work involved general repair internally and the careful insertion of modern services into the offices and residential accommodation at the upper levels.
We worked closely with the Conservation Officer which together with detailed programme planning allowed the existing tenants to remain in occupation whilst the work was carried out.
