13-14 Beresford Square is a pair of Victorian two-storey mid-terrace properties which are located on the outskirts of the very busy Woolwich market. The building had been vacant for a significant period of time and was generally in dilapidated condition.

Stride Treglown were appointed to design a scheme which would transform the building from its previous use as a dry cleaner’s into a modern, functional information centre for the public in respect of the proposed new nearby Docklands Light Railway station.

As well as internal alteration the external appearance of the building was dramatically improved by incorporating new ‘replacement shopfronts’ with hidden shutter housing. Level access was also introduced at the main entrance.

Working in collaboration with our in-house interior design colleagues, the design package was completed and issued for contractor tendering within a very short timescale. Planning permission and building regulations were also obtained and the project was handed handed over to a client on programme.
