The proposed school is part of the wider Cranbrook New community in East Devon. The overall landscape strategy has been to integrate the proposed primary school into its surroundings and context with an appropriate treatment to boundaries and interfaces.

The layout and orientation is intended to complement the local focus of the community building to the west of the Main Local Route (MLR) while considering the site wide constraints of the Cranbrook development as defined by the strategic Landscape, Biodiversity and Drainage Strategy (LBDS).

The school site layout has been designed to maximise usable space for play, learning and sport alike within the constraints of retaining many of the significant existing landscape elements and features in accordance with the LBDS.
