Stride Treglown have been central to the production of conceptual and illustrative masterplans for a major mixed use, commercial development at Wyck Beck Road, Bristol.
The results have formed a key part of a recent Local Plan Inquiry. If the outcome of the Inquiry is positive, this development will form a new, strategic business comÂmunity for west Bristol and help expand the availability of employment land in this area.
Key design objectives of the masterplan work were:
To form a unique business environment, supported by innovative transport policies, alternative travel provision, recreation, food and other complimentary facilities.
To design buildings which are ahead of their time, offering enhanced ecological and environmental value.
To develop a strong link from the existing employment centre to the north and a potential transport interchange to the south of the site.
To create a layout that would integrate and harmonize with the existing field pattern, landscape and site contours.
To create an architecture that would provide flexible and commercially attractive business accommodation, where parking and buildings do not dominate the existing sensitive landscape.
To design a scheme founded on creative sustainable initiatives.
