Stride Treglown secured outline permission in 2005 for a 520,000 sq ft business park at Torbay in Devon. The application was supported by an EIA, managed by ourselves, and was determined within a 13 week period. The market for high spec office uses did not however materialise in the subsequent period, and we were re-engaged in 2008 and again in 2010 to develop new options for the site.
We were appointed as the lead consultant in the preparation of a masterplan and planning application (including EIA) for a mixed use urban extension over the 92 acre site to include 350 residential units, 400,000sqft of employment uses, a local centre with convenience retail and community uses, energy centre, and large areas of public open space and playing pitches, allotments and a central park. Off-site woodland planting (extending to 9ha) and associated ecological enhancements are also planned.
We secured a resolution to grant outline planning permission in Feb 2012 and are currently engaged in managing the external landscape and ecological mitigation strategies to secure the planning permission.
