Stride Treglown were appointed in 2009 for architectural, planning and landscaping services in respect of the construction of a new building to house the University's Department of Film, Theatre and Television on the Whiteknights Campus.
The University sought a 2/3 storey building on the site of an existing car park and a small green area with a number of trees in a prominent location.
The planning team worked alongside the project team which included the university, project manager and architects from Stride Treglown Davies in Cardiff to produce a suitable design and layout within the heart of the University's main campus. The planning team used their expertise to negotiate with the Local Planning Authority in respect of the sustainability credentials of the building, drainage, tree impact and transport issues, which led to planning permission being approved in October 2009.
Work started on site in January 2010.
