Stride Treglown was appointed by the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) in 2005, to prepare a scheme for the redevelopment of a site known as Parkfields in Chippenham for continued B1 office use.

Designs were produced in-house by Stride Treglown architects and following a public consultation exercise, applications for planning permission and conservation area consent were submitted. Permission and consent were granted in July 2006.

Plans for development were not progressed until 2009, necessitating resubmission of the applications.

Preparation of the required applications involved assessment of national and local planning policy, justifying why the new offices were required, and demonstrating that the character of the conservation area would be enhanced and the design would protect the amenity of neighbours.
