Stride Treglown were appointed in 2006 to develop proposals for a new boarding house within the grounds of Brymore School in Cannington, Somerset. The school specialises in rural technology and the grounds feature the main Brymore House and a walled garden, both of which are Grade II listed.
The location for the new boarding house is within close proximity to the listed walled garden, therefore the scale and design of the boarding house were carefully developed by Stride Treglown architects to minimise any potential impact on the historic character in this part of the site. In addition, the scheme included an appropriate landscape scheme that would provide and attractive setting for the new boarding house and would ensure that the development assimilates with the existing character of the school grounds.
The development proposals were granted planning permission in March 2007.
