Stride Treglown has provided CDM services to the University of the West of England (UWE), within R Block, the new School of Architecture. It includes a 150 seat lecture theatre, specialist teaching spaces including IT, break out and conferencing rooms and offices, all of which are naturally ventilated.
Phase 2 will be for the teaching of construction and design courses for the Faculty of Environment and Technology and includes a glazed link between the two buildings with the ground floor comprising a flexible cafe/ resource area opening into a plaza.

Assessment of designers and contractors for competence to carry out their work without risk to health and safety with designers adhering to the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, when required by the Client
Ensuring that health and safety is an integral part of the design, construction and management of design projects
Improve planning and management to identify hazards so that these can be eliminated or minimised and properly managed
Encourage co-operation and co-ordination, emphasing the importance of competence at all levels
